Today, I am going to teach you how to manage your website analytics and analyze traffic data. I am going to be using AffiloTools, a cloud-based internet marketing software suite.
***Why use AffiloTools to manage my website analytics data?***
AffiloTools has made managing my website marketing faster than ever before. In the past, if I wanted to take a look at my analytics, I had to sign into Google. To see and post to my Facebook page, I then had to sign into Facebook. To manage my tweets, I then had to sign into Twitter. And finally, if I wanted to see how my website rankings were doing, I then had to sign into my rank tracking software. But now, thanks to AffiloTools, I can do it all from one account, which has saved me countless time and money.
***Why are my website analytics important?***
Understanding how much traffic your website has, whether it is converting and where it is coming from helps you build websites that make money. If you know how much traffic you have coming in, then you can track whether your website is gaining momentum and visitors, or losing them. When you make changes to your website, then you can see if it has a positive effect, or a negative effect.
Knowing whether your traffic is converting or not, is vital. What good is 10,000 visitors to your website — if they do not convert and make you any money? Slight tweaks can make a world of difference. A fantastic example of this is the Obama 2012 campaign. They fundraised a staggering 1.1 billion dollars — with 780 million of that generated from their online websites. They achieved this, because they tweaked and tweaked their website, and tested if these tweaks were resulting in people giving more money, or less. At one point, they made a change to a picture, and discovered that it resulted in a 19% increase in donations! That one tweak was worth millions of dollars.
And finally, knowing where your web traffic is coming from lets you see where your web marketing campaign is working — and what you need to work on. Do you have a lot of traffic from Google, but not much from social networks? Then you know that you need to put more effort into your social media. And on the flipside, if you are generating great traffic from social media, but little from Google, then you know you need to work harder on optimizing your website for search engines.
